If you’re interested in Crypto, you’ve likely heard about MetaMask: It’s the world’s most popular software wallet (a so-called “hot” wallet), with over 30 million users worldwide. And for good reason: It’s simple and free to use, supports many chains, and has tons of awesome features.

One of these features is storing non-fungible tokens, usually simply called NFTs. The easiest way to get started with NFTs is by purchasing one from a marketplace.

And that’s where OpenSea comes in: One of the first, and by now one of the biggest, NFT marketplaces, it offers a vast selection of NFTs of all kinds: From the infamous Crypto Punks to Anthony Hopkins’ “The Eternal” project – OpenSea has it all.

And the good news? Connecting MetaMask to OpenSea is a piece of cake, both on your computer and your phone. Let’s get going.

First, let’s assume you’re old enough to still use a computer.

How to connect the MetaMask browser extension to OpenSea

  1. Open your browser and head to opensea.io. Click on the wallet icon in the top right corner of the screen, and you’ll see this:

  1. Click on MetaMask, and – assuming you already have the MetaMask extension installed and setup – you’ll see the wallet asking you to enter your password:

  1. Enter your password, and – you guessed it – that’s it! You’ll see your balance in MetaMask, meaning your wallet is now connected to OpenSea.

  1. From here on, anytime you add an NFT to your shopping cart, it’ll use MetaMask as a payment AND storage method – unless you select to send the NFT to another wallet:

That’s it. Simple enough, right?

But what if you prefer using your phone?
